Being five hours into a hike by yourself as it starts to pour down with rain and things get crazy. You turn to no-one but yourself and you become dependable not by choice but by necessity. It's the feeling I thrive off and for me is more of an adrenaline rush than jumping out of a plane. Knowing that one slip and you are stuck out in the jungle without help. That is the essence of solo adventure travel and adventure travel photography for me.
With a passion for raw unguided adventures, Jackson Groves’ unrivaled passion for the medium of photography combined with his dedication to venturing off the beaten path has led him to discover his passion for storytelling. In late 2014, feeling overworked and unfulfilled, he decided to quit his corporate job, sell most of his belongings and set off on a journey to explore the world. Many parts of Jackson’s solo travels have made him a stronger person, but he respects that there are nuances to each of us — what makes solo travel right for one person can become a negative for someone else.
